Celeste Carducci – Hospitality Alumni

Celeste Carducci, ’77, owns the historic McClelland-Priest Bed and Breakfast Inn in Napa’s famous Abajo-Fuller Park District. Her luxury B&B combines more than 30 years in the hospitality business and a unique talent set that has helped produce the full Napa Valley experience for her guests.

After graduating from FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality, Carducci was hired by the Marriott Corporation and then went on to work for a wine distributor in Washington D.C. for several years. It wasn’t until 1988 that she bought the grand 1878 Second Empire Italianate mansion from Dr. Ethel Priest, where she lived while renovating. In 1991, the McClelland-Priest Bed and Breakfast Inn opened with two rooms. The now six-room B&B features large suites with fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs and private baths.

In 2007, Carducci and her husband Bruce Ahnfeldt – also an FIU alum – began looking for a new endeavor, so they bought and renovated a 1900 circa home in downtown Napa to create a wine bar. In 2009, the couple opened Uncorked at Oxbow, an untraditional tasting salon where guests are encouraged to get up and sing or play the guitar – a pairing that has earned the bar high praise from critics and customers alike.
