John Bailly – Honors College Professor


John Bailly is a professor in the Honors College at FIU, where he founded and directs the Aesthetics and Values Exhibition – a program that has earned national recognition. A&V students have presented at the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference every year since 2007 and have also curated and participated in special projects in a variety of venues. In 2010-2011, Bailly developed two self-supporting study abroad courses, one in France (Art, War, and Human Rights) and another in Italy (Empire, Renaissance, and Individualism). In 2009 he was made an Honorary Member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and was the national runner-up of NSCS’ Inspire Integrity Award. <read more>

    My earliest experiences at FIU were because of John Bailly. We would spend many hours at his home, engulfed in his paintings and then would come to FIU to see Bailly’s exhibits in the early museum, while he was still a student. Bailly is the man – He is FIU.
